The web team you would hire, without the headcount.
For owners whose site is good and whose time is better spent elsewhere. Content updates, design tweaks, new sections, fixes and monitoring — you send an email, it gets done. No contract, cancel any month.
Websites do not break. They quietly drift out of date.
Prices that changed last spring. A team member who left. A contact form nobody noticed had stopped sending. Two years of that and the site that used to win you work is now the reason someone chooses a competitor — and the fix is a rebuild you shouldn't have needed.
Left to drift
The honest reason it happens
It's not that you can't edit the site. It's that a fifteen-minute change sits on the list for four months because there is always something more urgent than the website.
The silent failures
A broken form or a dead integration doesn't announce itself — it just stops producing enquiries, and you find out weeks later when the month looks thin.
What Maintain does
Takes the whole category off your desk. Changes get made within two days, forms and uptime are watched, and the site stays as current as the business it represents.

Where the line sits
Maintain covers everyday changes and upkeep — not a full redesign, a new multi-page section, an e-commerce build or an ongoing SEO programme. Those are projects with their own scope, and we would quote them as such rather than let a retainer quietly stretch. If you want traffic growth as well, that's Grow — the two run together happily.
How a request actually goes
Onboarding
Access set up, monitoring connected, and a first pass over the site to log anything already broken or out of date. You get that list before we start charging for it.
You send it
An email, a voice note, a photo of a scribbled page — however it is easiest. No forms to fill in, no ticket numbers, no "please log this in the portal".
Done in two days
Most changes land the same or next working day. Anything urgent — a broken form, wrong pricing live on the site — jumps the queue and gets handled immediately.
Monthly check-in
A short note on what changed, what we checked, and anything we would suggest — plus a nudge if something on the site is starting to look dated before you notice it yourself.
Maintain, in the wild
Cyber Acoustics
A 30-year-old manufacturer with a large Squarespace product catalogue. Each month we audit SEO health and performance across the site, then fix what we find directly in the code, with itemised findings and hour estimates every cycle.
263 pages tested
~20% faster
Pricing, in the open
No contract and no minimum term — cancel any month and the site keeps working exactly as it is, in your account. Cheaper than the hourly rate you would pay for the same changes, and considerably cheaper than the rebuild a neglected site eventually needs.
What moves the number
4 factorsSize of the site
A six-page brochure site takes less watching than forty pages with a blog, shop and booking system.
How often things change
A handful of updates a month versus weekly campaigns, new staff and rotating promotions.
Complexity underneath
Custom code, e-commerce, member areas and CRM integrations need more careful testing after every change.
Response speed you need
48 hours is standard. If your business genuinely needs same-day on everything, that is priced accordingly.
Maintain questions
What counts as a change?
+
Text edits, new images, a new team member, updated pricing, a seasonal banner, a promo page, a new section on an existing page, a broken form. If it takes an afternoon or less, it is covered. Anything that is really a new project — a full redesign, a shop build, a second language — gets quoted separately.
Is there a limit on requests?
+
No stated cap, because in practice nobody abuses it. You have a standing weekly slot, and requests are worked through in the order they arrive with anything broken jumping the queue. If your volume genuinely outgrows the slot, we say so and reprice rather than quietly slowing down.
Do I still keep access to my own site?
+
Always. The Squarespace account, domain and analytics stay in your name and you keep full admin access — we work as a contributor. Nothing about this retainer makes the site harder to take back.
What if my needs change — or I want to stop?
+
No contract, so cancel any month with 30 days' notice. The site keeps working exactly as it is, in your account, with nothing switched off. If you need less for a quiet quarter or more during a campaign, that is a conversation rather than a renegotiation.
We did not build your site. Can you still take it on?
+
Usually yes, as long as it is on Squarespace. Onboarding includes a first pass so we know what we are inheriting, and you get that list of existing problems before anything is charged. If the site is in poor enough shape that maintaining it is throwing money away, we will tell you that instead of taking the retainer.
Can this run alongside Grow?
+
Yes, and most clients who want both end up bundling them. Grow brings people to the site, Maintain keeps it working once they arrive — different jobs, and they are priced together at a small reduction.
The work speaks. So do the people who paid for it.
“Mikkel is truly a one of a kind talent and an all around pleasure to work with. He is more than a freelancer. He’s a businessman himself who made it a point to understand my business. If you can articulate it, he can make it. He is perhaps the clearest communicator of any web designer I have ever worked with. He incorporates certain tools and software in his feedback process that create for a seamless implementation of any design feedback he receives. And he nails it. No matter how detailed or lengthy, not a single comment is lost on him. I am working on other businesses as well where I will soon need a website for them too. My only regret is not being able to build those other businesses fast enough, so I can see him create magic again sooner. When those projects are ready to advance and are ready for their big public debut, I know who I will be going to. Thank you Mikkel, sincerely.”

“Working with Mikkel was an exceptional experience from start to finish. I didn’t have a clear roadmap when we began — just a rough concept — and he somehow managed to bring clarity, structure, and creativity to the entire process. As the project evolved and my ideas shifted, Mikkel remained patient, thoughtful, and solutions-focused. He listened carefully, asked the right questions, and consistently delivered work that captured exactly what I was hoping for — even when I couldn’t fully articulate it myself. I’m absolutely thrilled with the final result and incredibly grateful for the effort and dedication he invested. I would not hesitate to recommend him.”

“Working with Mikkel on the Ajarro website was one of the best creative collaborations I’ve had. He has a rare combination of design artistry, technical depth, and human intuition that makes a brand feel alive. From day one, he understood the essence of what I wanted Ajarro to represent: modern, elevated, confident, and distinctly anti-agency. He translated that vision into a clean, high-performance site that feels effortless. Every decision, from typography and motion to mobile responsiveness and SEO setup, was intentional and grounded in both strategy and beauty. Beyond talent, Mikkel brings genuine professionalism, clear communication, and a problem-solver’s mindset. I’d recommend him to anyone looking for more than a designer. He’s a true brand partner who brings ideas to life with precision and heart. I truly cannot recommend Mikkel enough!”

“After several weeks of struggling to get my website launch-ready on my own, I finally realized that I needed help. Sheer good luck led me to Mikkel. My strengths do not lie in anything related to tech and all of the nuances of web design, including SEO, are complete mysteries to me. They are areas, however, in which Mikkel is fluent. He offered clarity and a path forward at a time of uncertainty, and he turned my website into something that truly represents my vision. Everyone comments on its layout, ascetics and accessibility. Mikkel’s competence is off the charts – he was an exacting perfectionist to get my site where it needed to be. His communication skills and delivery reflect the consummate professional he is. And he is an absolute pleasure to work with as well. He delivers what he says he will and consistently went beyond. I’m so happy (and lucky) that I found Mikkel. He is my forever go-to and I’m recommending him to friends and colleagues. You will value Mikkel’s insights and talents. If you need a reliable, trustworthy, insanely competent specialist, you’ve found the right person in Mikkel.”
