Cyber Acoustics
A Vancouver, Washington manufacturer of headsets, speakers, webcams and docking stations, supplying schools, contact centres, healthcare and government since 1996. We run a monthly audit and optimisation retainer on their Squarespace site.
The problem
A product catalogue this size builds up weight over time. Each product page carried its own copy of pricing, images, manuals and datasheets, third-party scripts blocked rendering, and images loaded far larger than they displayed.
The result was a mobile performance score in the range Google flags as poor, on a site that schools, contact centres and procurement teams use to research and compare solutions
Average score in the range Google flags as poor.
Pricing, manuals and datasheets duplicated per page
Third-party scripts blocking rendering
Images loading far larger than displayed
The approach
Audit every month, then fix the problems directly. Search Console and Analytics cover indexing and search health, and every live page is tested for mobile performance so the causes that repeat across the site show up.
Each cycle comes with itemised findings, hour estimates and priorities, so Cyber Acoustics can see what is being fixed, why, and what it costs.
Every live page tested, every cycle.
Indexing and search health audited monthly
Repeating causes found across the site
Findings with hours, estimates and priorities
What we built
Reporting on the problems and fixing them directly in the site’s code.
A full crawl each month through Search Console and Google Analytics covering indexing, 404s, redirects, canonicals and organic trends, reported month over month.
All 263 live pages tested individually for mobile performance, which is how the site-wide causes were found rather than assumed.
The jQuery-dependent navigation rebuilt in vanilla JavaScript, removing a library that was loading on every page.
Pricing, images, manuals and datasheets moved out of duplicated inline code into a single cached file served from a CDN.
Render-blocking third-party scripts deferred with the right load order, and images resized and lazy-loaded to match their display size.
When the site structure changed, the client team were shown how to update manuals, datasheets and pricing themselves, with the access to do it.

"In just the first couple of months of our engagement, I've been extremely impressed with the quality and thoroughness of the work. The website audit reports are incredibly detailed, with issues prioritized by significant, with estimated times to fix. This gives us a clear roadmap for making meaningful progress while staying within our agreed scope and budget. Communication has been excellent and the team has been incredibly flexible in working with the U.S. time zone. Overall, an excellent beginning to a long-term partnership."
